An exhibition celebrating a decade since the island became the world’s first whole-nation UNESCO Biosphere has opened at the Manx Museum in Douglas.

Called Jeihosphere, the show takes its name from a blend of jeih, the Manx word for ten, and biosphere. According to Manx Radio, it features ten curated artefacts that chart the work of the biosphere team since 2016.

Jason Bissell, chair of Biosphere Isle of Man, spoke to Manx Radio after the opening. He said the project’s conservation work matters every bit as much as its research.

Mr Bissell also told the station that what lies beneath the waves has featured heavily.

Manx Radio reported that Jeihosphere is open at the Manx Museum until 28 February next year.
