REAL MANX STORIES

Citrine

Explore a coastal steamer through its scattered metalwork and prominent boiler.

Citrine ran aground off the Isle of Man in March 1931. Modern dive accounts describe a broken wreck with recognisable machinery below a kelp-covered slope.

Preparing controls… If this message stays here, reload the game.

Your first mission: approach a gold marker, inspect it, then find the others. Use the on-screen buttons, WASD or arrows. Guide me can swim you to the next discovery.

Choose your expedition.

Your dive controls

Swim: WASD, or ↑↓ to move and ←→ to turn. Look: drag the water or hold the on-screen Look buttons.

Rise: E or Space. Descend: Q or Shift. Boost: hold B while moving. Guide me: G.

Inspect: approach a survey marker and press F. Sonar: N. Lamp: L. Pause: P. End dive: R.

The on-screen buttons work with a mouse, touch or keyboard. Hold a movement button to swim; you can hide the buttons from the toolbar. Guide me takes you towards a discovery. Move or turn yourself to take over.

Inspect all three features, then return to the green buoy to complete your survey. End dive keeps your findings without a completed-survey badge. Your discovery log stays on this device.

The wrecks and their stories

Wrecks and their histories are real; seabeds, layouts, depths and survey missions are illustrated for play. Not a dive plan.

Thracian

This four-masted barque capsized during a storm in 1892 while under tow towards Liverpool for fitting out. Her sailing rig was never completed. The scene interprets a published 2007 dive account.

Fenella Ann

This Castletown scallop trawler sank after striking rocks in November 2002; both crew were rescued. The wheelhouse and mast reconstruction interprets a 2003 dive account, not the wreck's present condition.

HMS Racehorse

Racehorse was lost off Langness on 14 December 1822. The tragedy helped inspire William Hillary's campaign for organised sea rescue. This stylised scene uses broken timbers and cannon to interpret a site where little hull survives.

Look, learn and leave things where they are. This expedition records discoveries without removing anything from the wrecks.
