Surveys of the condition of the island’s roads are due to begin on Monday 2 November, Manx Radio has reported.

The Department of Infrastructure has appointed a specialist company to assess the whole highway network.

The department says the results will help it plan future maintenance work.

According to Manx Radio, the survey vehicles will travel alongside other traffic rather than requiring roads to be closed, and disruption to drivers is expected to be minimal or none at all.

The surveys are expected to take about a month to complete.
