Garff Commissioners have asked people to stay off the slipway at Laxey beach after a hole was reported in it, according to 3FM.
The local authority is also urging people to take care on the beach, which 3FM said was damaged by storms this week.
The commissioners said the hole could pose a danger to anyone using the slip to get down to the foreshore. They are asking the public to avoid it altogether, and said the problem had been reported to the Department of Infrastructure (DOI).
3FM reported on Wednesday 28 October that the DOI is already carrying out repairs to the promenade, which took a pounding from high tides and strong winds.
3FM did not report a timescale for repairs to the slipway.
