The Snaefell Mountain Railway will remain out of action on Wednesday 28 October because of storm damage, Manx Radio has reported.

Isle of Man Railways told the station that the line was damaged in the “strong winds of the past few days”.

If repair work can be finished on Wednesday, the operator expects the mountain line to be back in service by Thursday 29 October and to keep to its usual timetable over the weekend.

Isle of Man Railways said it would give a further update on Wednesday.

According to Manx Radio, the Manx Electric Railway has not been affected and will run as normal on Wednesday.
