A replacement bus shelter is due to be installed on School Road in Onchan, with work hoped to take place within the next two weeks, according to Manx Radio.

Onchan’s commissioners, the village’s local authority, told Manx Radio they have handed over a small parcel of land so the shelter can be put in place. They also said they would make sure the pavement at the stop is accessible.

The installation is expected to be carried out by the local authority’s contractor, Manx Radio reported. The broadcaster described the two-week timescale as a hope rather than a fixed schedule, and did not report a firm date.

Once in place, the stop will give School Road residents access to the 2, 2A, 3, 3A and 15 services.

Manx Radio’s report did not include details of the shelter’s design or of any disruption to the pavement or road while the work is carried out.
