Four young players from the island were involved as Tranmere Rovers beat Newcastle Blue Star 6-0 in the first round of the FA Youth Cup at Prenton Park on Tuesday 27 October, Manx Radio Sport reported.
Liam Blake started among the substitutes and came on to score the last of Tranmere’s six goals. Dylan Bullock, Preston Cleator and James Lowther each started the match and stayed on until the final whistle, according to Manx Radio.
Seb McAuley got two of the Wirral club’s goals, and Ewan Duncan, Naod Tewolde and Alfie Casey added one each.
All four islanders are among five Manx players whose places at Tranmere Rovers College for this season were announced in May. The fifth, Alex Bolton, did not make Tuesday’s squad, Manx Radio said.
