Tennis has become the first sport to name its Isle of Man team for the 2027 Island Games in the Faroe Islands, with eight players selected, Manx Radio reported.
The squad is split evenly between men and women and is led by team manager Hannah Snidal, who also plays. She will be joined in the women’s team by Charlotte Clarke, Karen Faragher and Sarah Long. The men’s team is Sean Drewry, Orry Farnworth, Nerijus Gricevicius and Will Hart.
According to Manx Radio, the Games will run from Saturday 3 July to Friday 9 July 2027. Tennis last featured in Guernsey in 2023 and was not part of the 2025 Games in Orkney.
In a statement reported by Energy FM, the Isle of Man Lawn Tennis Association congratulated the players, saying representing the island was “a fantastic opportunity”.
Tennis Isle of Man told Manx Radio that fundraising and sponsorship would play an important role in getting the team to the Faroe Islands, and that it would welcome support from local businesses and the wider community.
