Alf Cannan, the former Chief Minister, will put three questions to ministers at the House of Keys sitting on 3 November, Energy FM has reported.

The Ayre and Michael MHK returned to the backbenches after five years at the head of the government. According to Energy FM, he spent the five years before that as Treasury Minister. That means it is a decade since he was last in a position to table questions for oral answer, which members put to ministers on the floor of the Keys.

His first question is for his successor, Chief Minister Chris Thomas, and concerns the Mooir Vannin wind farm application. Mr Cannan asks which ministers “have declared conflicts of interest arising from previous public statements” about the application. He also asks what arrangements are in place to ensure their “non-participation in its determination”.

The other two questions are addressed to Infrastructure Minister Jason Moorhouse, and Energy FM described them as more focused on his constituency. He asks:

  • what is being done to tackle coastal erosion at Kirk Michael
  • what assessment has been made of bus services in the north of the island
  • House of Keys
  • Mooir Vannin
  • Offshore wind
  • Alf Cannan
