A murder mystery play is to be staged at Government House next May, with the residence and its gardens serving as the set, Manx Radio has reported.
The production forms part of the farewell for Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer, the King’s representative on the island. Sir John approached Manx playwright Sharon Walker to take charge of the show, which is titled ‘Murder Most Excellent’.
Ms Walker told Manx Radio the audience will not be confined to seats. Instead, they will be free to explore the grounds, hunting for clues as they work out who committed the crime.
Sir John and Lady Lorimer have been on the island for six years, and their time at Government House is due to come to an end next summer, according to the broadcaster.
Specific performance dates, times and ticket arrangements have not yet been published.
