Mark Sutcliffe, co-founder of the US manufacturing software company Redzone, will give the keynote address at TEKEX Isle of Man at Santander Work Café in Douglas on 4 November, according to Energy FM.
Redzone was sold in a deal reported to be worth $1 billion. Mr Sutcliffe’s talk, titled The Billion Dollar Exit, will draw on his experience of building the business and selling it.
The business and innovation event will also hear from technology firms working in education, health and road safety. Each will present proposals drawn up specifically for the island.
Invitations will go to local investors, business leaders and people from government, who will be able to discuss where they might work with the companies taking part.
The line-up includes:
- Jason Bissell, chair of UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man
- iO-CO, a health technology company
- PupilPower, an education technology firm
- LUSYi, a road safety business
According to Energy FM, TEKEX founder Ed Prow said the event was meant to strengthen links made at earlier gatherings. He said it would also give international companies a chance to look at what the island has to offer.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.
