George Richardson can now practise as an independent financial adviser after the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority said it had no objection to his appointment, Energy FM reported on 17 October, citing an announcement by his employer, MAC Financial.
According to the outlet, his approval gives the firm a total of nine qualified independent financial advisers.
Mr Richardson joined MAC Financial in 2023 as a paraplanner, the role that handles research and report preparation for advisers, and went on to lead that team. The company said he moved across to advice as a trainee in July and has since completed its internal adviser assessment.
While at the firm he qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner. In 2026 he received the FPIBA Education Award for Academic Excellence, two years after the Chartered Insurance Institute Isle of Man named him its Young Achiever of the Year.
Ed Walter, MAC Financial’s managing director, described the move as a “fantastic achievement and a significant milestone” for Mr Richardson, according to Energy FM.
