Manx boxer Jade Burden will defend her unbeaten professional record on Sunday (25 October) when she meets Shauna Browne at Harrow Leisure Centre in London, with two vacant titles at stake.
The pair will contest the WBA Gold and IBF International lightweight belts in a bout to be shown live on DAZN, according to Isle of Man Today. Burden, nicknamed ‘Grenade’, already holds the Commonwealth silver super featherweight title. She won it earlier this year by beating the defending champion, Katie Smith, in Bolton.
Burden is headlining the Harrow event. She described a long and demanding training camp, saying: “I genuinely believe I’m in the best shape of my career.”
She spoke of the mutual respect between herself and Browne and said she expected a tough contest. She added that once the first bell sounds, “it’s business”.
The fighter said she was proud to represent the island and called the support from home “unbelievable”.
“I’m not just coming to take part in a big occasion. I’m coming to win,” she said.
