Castletown Metropolitan Football Club is introducing AI-powered camera technology at its ground after extra backing from principal sponsor Hartford Homes.
The club will use a Veo Sports Camera, which follows the ball automatically to record and livestream games without a camera operator, according to Energy FM. The station said the system also produces automated match highlights and analytics.
The club says the camera will help it analyse performances and improve coaching, and will give players insight through statistics and data analysis, Manx Radio reported.
Energy FM said Hartford Homes’ support comes on top of its existing sponsorship agreement with the club.
The investment arrives during a strong start to the 2026/27 season for the southern side. According to Energy FM, the first team has a perfect record and sits top of the Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, while the combination side is third in its league with only one defeat.
Club chairman Patrick Quinney described the camera as “a fantastic addition”, saying it would let coaches and players learn lessons from team performances.
He thanked Hartford Homes for its investment, adding that “local business support makes a real difference to what we can achieve as a club”.
