A 39-year-old woman from Jurby has been fined £400 for being drunk and disorderly, Isle of Man Today has reported.
According to the outlet, she contacted emergency services on 9 July and asked officers to find out whether her former partner was at her home. Police established that he was not there.
She then made a second call, telling police she would go into the sea if they did not take her home, Isle of Man Today said.
Officers later located her behind the Outdoors store in Ramsey. The outlet reported that she swore and described their presence as “police brutality”.
Paramedics attended, but the crew subsequently said they did not feel safe, and she was arrested, according to the report.
She told the probation service she had spent the day kayaking on her own and had drunk seven cans of cider, Isle of Man Today said.
As well as the £400 fine, magistrates ordered her to pay £50 towards the cost of the prosecution.
