Garff Commissioners are looking for someone to fill a vacancy on the Laxey Ward, Energy FM has reported.
The seat became free when Richard Henthorn won a place in the House of Keys, the elected chamber of Tynwald.
Anyone wishing to stand has until 4 November to hand in nomination papers, according to the radio station. A by-election will be held on 3 December if the seat is contested.
Energy FM said the successful candidate would share responsibility for matters such as keeping streets clean, collecting rubbish and setting the authority’s budgets.
Speaking to the station’s Local Democracy Reporter, Emma Draper, the commissioners’ administration officer, Kezia Sproule-Craine, described the role as an opportunity for residents to make a positive contribution to their community.
