Campaigners seeking new inquests into the deaths in the 1973 Summerland disaster are due back in court in Douglas on Tuesday, 20 October.

A directions hearing in the case brought by the Justice for Summerland group is scheduled to begin at 11:00 at Douglas Courthouse, according to 3FM. The station said the group’s Jacqueline MacDonald Hallam will appear before Judge of Appeal Cross.

A directions hearing is a procedural stage at which a judge sets out how a case will go forward.

The group has been pressing for fresh hearings into the deaths. Earlier this year it lost an appeal against a decision not to hold new inquests, 3FM reported.

The station did not say what the group will ask the court for on Tuesday, or how the case may proceed after the hearing.
