Marks & Spencer is recruiting more than 80 seasonal staff for its Douglas store to help it through the Christmas period, according to Isle of Man Today.

Applications for the roles at the Strand Street shop are now open. The first new starters are due to join from 25 October, ahead of what the retailer describes as its busiest time of the year.

The posts pay £14.62 an hour. M&S describes the work as fast-moving and hands-on, and says it will train new recruits and support them while they learn the job.

Store manager Lauren Robinson said the company was “delighted to be creating more than 80 opportunities in our store this year”.

She described Christmas as “one of the busiest and most exciting times to join M&S”, adding that the store was looking for people who would bring energy and enthusiasm and work as part of the team.

The announcement, as reported, did not say how long the seasonal contracts would last.
