Jade Burden’s unbeaten professional record ended on Sunday night, 25 October, when Ireland’s Shauna Browne stopped her in the sixth round of a bout for two vacant lightweight titles, Energy FM reported.

Victory gives Browne the WBA Gold and IBF International lightweight belts. The result is recorded as a technical knockout.

According to Energy FM, Burden, who holds the Commonwealth Silver super featherweight title, held her own against the more experienced Browne in the early rounds and caught her with a range of punches.

The fight swung in the sixth. Energy FM said a heavy right hand from Browne left Burden visibly shaken, and the referee stopped the contest shortly afterwards.

It is Burden’s first loss as a professional, taking her record to five wins and one defeat. Browne moves to nine wins and one defeat.

Energy FM described Burden’s display as valiant.
