Ballaugh-based TT rider Dean Harrison has finished fourth in the British Supersport Championship after the season ended at Brands Hatch, according to Isle of Man Today.
The 37-year-old Yorkshireman, riding a Honda Racing CBR600RR, was fifth in Saturday’s sprint race. He also set its fastest lap, 1 minute 27.771 seconds, which put him on pole for Sunday’s feature race.
That race was run in the wet. Harrison chose full wet tyres, which the paper said gave him confidence early on, but the conditions changed as the 12 laps went on and he finished ninth. It was his first full season in the class.
His Honda team-mate Jack Kennedy was runner-up in the championship to Luke Stapleford. A 20th-place finish on Sunday ended Kennedy’s hopes of the title.
The seven-time TT winner said: “What a weekend to finish the season on.” He pointed to a podium at Donington Park early in the year and said he would have liked a little more pace.
He said he was riding to Morocco on a Honda Africa Twin, adding: “I just love riding bikes and can’t wait to get stuck into 2027.”
