Yasmin Ingham finished 22nd with Club Class at the seven-year-old World Championships at Le Lion in France, Energy FM Sport reported.
Ingham has been riding the gelding, nicknamed Louis, only since earlier this year. He is owned by Deirdre Johnston, Jane Knight, Lady Milnes Coates and Mary Tweddle.
The championships bring together top young event horses from many countries. The pair began with a dressage mark of 29.9, which put them fourth after the first phase. They then picked up 5.6 time penalties across country, taking their score to 35.5 and leaving them 22nd going into the showjumping.
In the final phase they had one rail down and added 0.4 time penalties. That gave a finishing score of 39.9, and they kept 22nd place.
Ingham said she was “delighted with Louis today in such a big showjumping atmosphere”, adding that he “just rubbed an unlucky rail behind in the treble”.
She said completing their first CCI3*L together had been “really satisfying”, given that she only started getting to know the horse in April.
According to Energy FM Sport, Ingham’s last event of the season is this week. She will take a different horse, Gyspie Du Loir, to Pau in France for the CCI5*.
