Parents of young children are being encouraged to have them vaccinated against flu this winter, Public Health Isle of Man has said.

In a social media post reported by 3FM on Wednesday 21 October, the public health team warned that flu can be very serious in children under five. It said the illness contributes to large numbers of hospital admissions in that age group.

All children aged two or three are eligible for a free flu vaccine, which is given as a nasal spray.

3FM’s report directed parents to further information online for anyone wanting to find out more about the vaccine.
