Douglas City Council is today (Wednesday 21 October) entering a formal agreement on friendship and cooperation with Dublin, connecting the island’s capital with the Irish capital.
According to 3FM, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Daryl Barron, is joining council representatives for the ceremony at City Hall in Ridgeway Street, Douglas.
The council, which is responsible for local services in Douglas, said the arrangement would give the two cities chances to collaborate and exchange expertise, 3FM reported.
The announcement, as reported, did not say which parts of the council’s work the partnership will cover, how long it is intended to last or whether either authority will spend money on it. It also gave no indication of whether visits between the cities or shared events are being planned.
