A charity shop in Peel has asked people not to leave donations on its doorstep while it is closed. Volunteers had arrived on Saturday morning (17 October) to find a heap of bags left at the entrance.

Peel Charity Shop, on Shore Road, made the appeal on Facebook, 3FM reported.

According to the shop, the bags had been left outside before volunteers got there to open up.

The shop said a notice in its window already asks people not to leave bags outside. Donations left on the street can be a health hazard to the staff who then have to deal with them, it said.

The shop is asking anyone with items to give not to leave them outside when it is closed.
