Lloyd Jones has been named chief financial officer of FIM Capital, the investment and fund administration business based in Douglas, according to Isle of Man Today.
The company, which has offices on Athol Street, said Mr Jones’s remit would cover running its finances and governance, handling regulatory returns and overseeing how it manages capital and liquidity. Its finance and fund accounting teams will report to him.
The firm said Mr Jones brings more than four decades of experience in accountancy and financial services. A Fellow Chartered Accountant, he gained his master’s in business administration, specialising in finance, at Manchester University. He began his career at PKF before moving to PwC, where he held a senior role in audit management.
He went on to become finance director at Charlemagne Capital, which manages emerging markets investments, and at the island-based fund management subsidiaries of Nedbank. He has also held the post of group financial controller at Manx Financial Group PLC.
According to FIM Capital, Mr Jones joins shortly after Tim Shallcross took up a newly filled role leading marketing, sales and business delivery.
David Bushe, the firm’s chief executive, said Mr Jones’s knowledge “will be a real asset to the business” and that the company has “ambitious plans for the future”.
Mr Jones described coming on board during the firm’s 20th anniversary year as “a fantastic opportunity”, saying the ambition he saw within the business had attracted him to the role.
