Greg Chambers, a counsel in Appleby’s dispute resolution team in Douglas, has been admitted to the Manx Bar, Isle of Man Today has reported.
According to the newspaper, His Honour Deemster Corlett, the First Deemster, swore him in as an Isle of Man advocate at a formal ceremony earlier in October.
Mr Chambers moved to Appleby in 2023. He had previously qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and worked at the international firm DWF.
Isle of Man Today said his work covers complex corporate and commercial disputes. He concentrates in particular on claims over broken commercial agreements, disagreements between shareholders and directors, and insolvency-related cases.
The newspaper also reported that the latest Legal 500 UK 2027 guide listed him as a leading associate in dispute resolution for the second year in a row.
Mr Chambers said he was “delighted to have been commissioned as an Isle of Man Advocate” and thanked his colleagues for their support during the process.
Mark Holligon, Appleby’s managing partner and head of dispute resolution, called it “a significant milestone in his career”. He added that the firm looked forward to Mr Chambers continuing to develop his practice as an advocate.
