Greg Chambers, a counsel in the dispute resolution team at Appleby, has been admitted to the Manx Bar, the firm said in an announcement published by Finance Isle of Man.

He took the advocate’s oath at a formal ceremony on Wednesday 14 October, presided over by the First Deemster, His Honour Deemster Corlett.

Mr Chambers joined Appleby in 2023. He originally qualified in England and Wales, where he was a solicitor, and previously worked at the international law firm DWF.

According to Appleby, his work covers a wide spread of corporate and commercial litigation. He specialises in claims arising from breaches of commercial contracts, disagreements between shareholders and directors, and insolvency-related disputes. For a second consecutive year, the Legal 500 UK 2027 guide named him a Leading Associate for dispute resolution.

Mr Chambers said he was “delighted to have been commissioned as an Isle of Man Advocate”.

Mark Holligon, who is Appleby’s managing partner and head of dispute resolution, acted as Mr Chambers’ mentor. He called the admission “a significant milestone in his career” and said the firm was looking forward to watching him develop his practice as a Manx advocate.
