This weekend’s Pink Lap of the TT Mountain Course has been postponed because of the weather forecast, 3FM has reported.

The fundraiser, organised by the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group and H&H Motorcycles, was due to begin from the TT grandstand in Douglas at 18:00 on Saturday, 24 October. According to the station, thousands of people dressed in pink had been expected to take to the course.

Forecasters are predicting dense fog on the Mountain Road on Saturday, with strong winds across other parts of the island. 3FM said these conditions mean the lap cannot take place as planned.

The station reported that a replacement date has not yet been announced.

The Pink Lap is one of the larger community fundraising events to use the Mountain Course outside the racing calendar. It brings riders and supporters together in pink in aid of breast cancer support.
