Veteran house DJ Tall Paul will headline Neil Cowie’s Afternoon Disco at Bench Club in Douglas on Saturday 30 January 2027, according to Isle of Man Today.

The London-born DJ, real name Paul Newman, made his name in the 1990s with sets at clubs including Cream, Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, Godskitchen and Trade. His career started at Turnmills, the club his family owned, and took in pirate radio before a residency at Trade from 1990 cemented his reputation.

Muzik magazine named him DJ of the Year in 1998, the same year his track ‘Let Me Show You’, released under the Camisra alias, reached number five in the UK singles chart. Compilations carrying his name have sold more than a million copies combined, and he has remixed acts including the Stone Roses and New Order.

The Afternoon Disco series, organised by Neil Cowie, runs daytime club sessions mixing 1970s and 1980s disco with house and party anthems. Previous guests have included Judge Jules, K-Klass, Hedkandi, Paul Bleasdale and 2funky2.

Isle of Man Today reported that the January set is expected to include some of Tall Paul’s best-known productions, and organisers are advising people to arrive early.
