Douglas & District and Pulrose United shared ten goals at Nobles Park as the season’s first Corpy Derby ended 5-5, Energy FM Sport reported.
According to Energy FM Sport, the two clubs are the only sides still playing their home matches on Corporation pitches, and the fixture has only recently been given its derby billing.
Joel Kennaugh headed D&D in front after 20 minutes. Pulrose then scored twice in quick succession, through Nay Halsall and a 25-yard strike from Owen Canipa, before Dylan Fick made it 3-1 to the visitors.
The first half ended with two D&D players, Ben Hall and Rian Jones, sent to the sin bin by referee Willie Cowley. Kennaugh’s second goal came in between, leaving the hosts 3-2 down at the break.
D&D started the second half with nine men, and goalkeeper Will Gavin made two more saves to deny Fick and Canipa. Energy FM Sport credited him with keeping his side in the game. Once back at full strength, D&D scored three times. Kieran Lane levelled on 57 minutes, Jacob Preston’s long-range effort put them ahead two minutes later, and Kennaugh completed his hat-trick with a header to make it 5-3.
Pulrose responded late on. Substitute Calum Holden scored with 12 minutes left, and defender James Maginn equalised three minutes from time. Halsall set up both goals, and D&D held out through added time to share the points.
