Vagabonds Ladies strengthened their grip on Women’s NC2 North West on Saturday 17 October with a 38-0 win on the road at Aldwinians, Manx Radio Sport reported.

The visitors were 19-0 up by half-time. Becky Dunne, Bea O’Neill and Isla Curphey all crossed, and Sammie Macdonald added two conversions.

Curphey scored her second try shortly after the restart. Maylyn Campbell then claimed her first try of the season, and Tilly Jackson finished the scoring late on. Macdonald converted two of the three second-half tries.

The win gives Vagabonds more breathing space at the top of the table early in the season. According to Manx Radio Sport, the side now have a week without a fixture before Macclesfield visit Ballafletcher at Hop tu Naa.

In other weekend rugby, Douglas drew 34-34 at Winnington Park in Regional 2 North West. Wing Sam McCord scored a hat-trick for the second match in a row. In the Hartford Homes Manx Cup, Ramsey beat a much-changed Vagabonds side 47-7.
