Hickman leads TT contingent named for Macau Grand Prix

Manx riders Mikey Evans and Marcus Simpson are on the 20-rider provisional entry, but last year's winner Davey Todd is absent.

Peter Hickman tops a list of TT regulars on the provisional entry for next month’s Macau Grand Prix, according to Isle of Man Today.

The 14-time TT winner has four victories on the Guia Circuit and will be aiming for a fifth. His team-mate Davey Todd, who beat Hickman to win last year’s race, is not among the 20 riders named.

Manx riders Mikey Evans and Marcus Simpson are both on the list. Evans, who finished in the top 10 last year, will ride an RC Express Honda, and Simpson will be on a Penz13 Racing Team BMW.

Other Mountain Course regulars on the entry include Paul Jordan, Almaric Blanc, Kevin Keyes, Timothee Monot, Rob Hodson, Julian Trummer, Eddy Ferre and Sam West. Maurizio Bottalico takes the place of Erno Kostamo, who remains sidelined after being injured in a crash at this year’s TT.

This year’s meeting is the 58th Macau Grand Prix. Free practice is on Thursday 19 November and qualifying is the next day. The 12-lap race is on Saturday 21 November.

The event has not always run to plan. Bad weather forced the cancellation of the 2024 race, and the trophies went to the top three qualifiers instead: Todd first, Kostamo second and Hickman third.
