An Irish Coastguard helicopter flew a patient needing critical treatment from Noble’s Hospital to the UK on Sunday 25 October, according to Energy FM.

Douglas Coastguard arranged the transfer. Energy FM reported that UK emergency services were under heavy demand linked to Storm Boelo, so the Irish Coastguard was asked to help, and it dispatched a helicopter from Dublin to the hospital in Douglas.

An Isle of Man Coastguard spokesperson thanked “everyone who worked so hard to ensure the mission took place” and said the patient had been flown out to the UK.

Energy FM did not give any details of the patient, their condition or the hospital they were taken to.
