The choir of St German’s Cathedral in Peel has released its first album, a seasonal recording called ‘The Gift’, Manx Radio has reported.

The CD, subtitled ‘Music for Advent Christmas and Epiphany’, brings together the choir’s young singers and its adult members. According to the broadcaster, the choir has 25 voices in all.

Manx Radio’s Judith Ley interviewed Dr Peter Litman, the cathedral’s music director, about the recording, along with three of the choristers: Grace Archer, Jasper Emery and Lucy Morgan.

Copies can be bought at the cathedral itself and at other Manx National Heritage outlets, Manx Radio said.

The album covers music for the whole season, from the weeks of Advent leading up to Christmas through to Epiphany in January.
