Bethany Colgan has raised more than £1,000 for Endometriosis UK after running her first marathon, in Zagreb.

She completed the course in the Croatian capital in five hours, 16 minutes and 27 seconds, Manx Radio reported. The broadcaster did not say when the race took place.

The fundraising has a personal link. According to Manx Radio, Ms Colgan had endometriosis for eight years before it was diagnosed, and she underwent surgery to remove it last year.

Endometriosis UK is the national charity supporting people affected by the condition.

The Zagreb event was the first time she had tackled the full marathon distance. Speaking to the broadcaster, she said she was pleased with how her debut had gone.
