Douglas law firm Simcocks Advocates has been placed in the top tier of the Legal 500 directory for an 18th consecutive year, according to Isle of Man Today.

The firm’s private client department, based at its Ridgway Street office and led by chief executive Phil Games, is in Tier 1 in the directory’s 2027 rankings, which were released in October.

The Legal 500, founded in 1987, assesses and ranks legal practices and individual lawyers in more than 100 countries, Isle of Man Today reported.

The firm’s commercial property, dispute resolution, corporate and commercial, and banking and finance departments were also highly ranked, the newspaper said.

Directors Irini Newby and Mr Games remain in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame UK. Director Alex Spencer and advocates Chris Brooks and Kevin O’Loughlin are listed as “Leading Partners”, and Caroline Jennings as a “Next Generation Partner”.

Mr Games said it was “an honour to be ranked in the top tier once again” by a directory that draws on feedback from clients and business associates as well as the quality of the firm’s work.
