The Isle of Man is to bring in new sanctions regulations to match changes being made in the UK, 3FM has reported.

According to the station, the UK is preparing to revise its rules on human rights and humanitarian sanctions. The island will make corresponding changes so that its own regime stays aligned with the UK’s.

The Manx rules now in force date from 2020 and will be superseded by the new regulations, 3FM said.

3FM did not say when the new regulations will take effect. Nor did it set out what will change in practice for businesses and individuals on the island.

In a separate item, the station reported that the Government has released four updated sanctions lists covering different countries.
