Businesses are being invited to the Villa Marina in Douglas on 2 November to hear about sponsorship opportunities for the 2029 Island Games, the Isle of Man Government has announced.
The island will host the Games in July 2029, with more than 4,000 people from 24 competing islands expected to arrive for six days of competition, according to the Government.
Organisers will set out a range of packages, including the role of headline sponsor, which carries the chance to influence the event’s logo and branding. Firms will also hear about sponsoring individual sports.
The Government pointed to the reach of the 2025 Games in Orkney, which it said produced more than 1,800 media reports with an estimated audience of over 50 million.
The island hosted the first Games in 1985 and again in 2001. The Government has already committed £2.6 million to upgrading facilities, including the athletics track.
Sarah Maltby MHK, Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, called hosting the event “a once-in-a-generation opportunity”. Gary Corkhill, chair of the organising committee, said sponsorship was “more than financial support”.
Members of the organising committee will be available on the day to answer questions, with places booked through the Government’s event page.
