The organisers of Deep South Music Festival are looking at how live music can continue in Port Erin now that the Bay Hotel has been put on the market, 3FM has reported.
The beach festival had been expected to come to an end after 14 years. Its organisers had earlier thanked islanders for backing the event over that time and for the friendships it had brought.
According to 3FM, the team is now holding talks with Port Erin Commissioners, the village’s local authority, about keeping summer events running in the village.
The organisers told the station they were committed to helping safeguard live music in Port Erin for the future.
No new plans, dates or venues have been announced. 3FM did not say how the Bay Hotel’s sale affects the festival’s earlier arrangements.
