Islanders who qualify for winter vaccinations are being encouraged to come forward, as Public Health Isle of Man warns that several seasonal illnesses are spreading.

In a post on social media, Public Health Isle of Man said seasonal flu, Covid and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) were all increasing as cold weather approaches, 3FM reported on Thursday 15 October.

It is asking people in eligible groups to get vaccinated against the three illnesses, which commonly circulate during the winter.

3FM’s report did not include case numbers, details of which groups are eligible for each vaccine, or any comparison with levels seen in previous winters.

Islanders who are unsure whether they qualify for any of the three vaccines can check their eligibility through Public Health Isle of Man, according to 3FM.
