Dancers from Unity Dance School have helped set a Guinness World Records title after performing with DJ Sigala at Bradford Bulls’ Bartercard Odsal Stadium on Friday 20 March, according to Isle of Man Today.

The school’s 43 performers joined 1,123 dancers from the UK, Ireland and the island for Bullmania 2.0. The record was for the largest number of backing dancers performing with a singer. Sigala, vocalist Shanice Steele, organisers Pro-Excel and Bradford Bulls RLFC were also credited.

The show, which included live music and fireworks, was staged before Bradford Bulls played Huddersfield Giants in a Super League match shown live on Sky Sports.

Isle of Man Today reported that the wider cast ranged from young children to adults of 28. The dancers came from 43 schools and organisations and had completed a year-long rehearsal programme run by Pro-Excel’s teaching team.

Unity principal Linzi Brown said she was “incredibly proud” of the dancers, adding that taking part was “an experience they will never forget”.

The school thanked the Steam Packet, the Isle of Man Arts Council and local primary and secondary schools. It said they had supported the trip to Bradford and helped the young performers take time out of lessons.
