Matt Bostock has won the scratch race at the Tissot UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai, his second medal of the meeting, Energy FM reported on 15 October.

The Glen Vine rider, 29, took the title with a solo ride, according to Energy FM. Minutes earlier he had been on the podium with the team pursuit squad that won bronze, before returning to the track for the scratch race. Manx Radio said both medals came on the same day.

Energy FM noted that Bostock had finished fourth in the same event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier this year, and that his rivals were watching him closely as a result.

Yasmin Ingham, the former eventing world champion, is 15th in the latest FEI Eventing World Athlete Rankings with 345 points, Energy FM reported. The rankings, compiled by the Fédération Équestre Internationale, are led by New Zealand’s Tim Price on 534 points, ahead of the Americans Boyd Martin on 528 and William Coleman on 500.

In squash, two island sides travelled to a festival in Jersey, where Team Atla were crowned division champions, Manx Radio reported.

Bellhouse won the final round of the sport trap league, according to Manx Radio, with Kelly and Van de Berg also among the winners on the day.

The island’s national hockey sides have begun their latest EH Championship campaigns away from home. Manx Radio described their opening results as mixed.

In motorsport, Ryan Cringle finished 23rd in the Prestige StarBikers Supermoto final in Belgium, Isle of Man Today reported. The paper said he heads to Lincolnshire this weekend for the final round of the British Supermoto Championship.
