Connectivity business TEKEX has appointed entrepreneur Jenson Artus as its Isle of Man jurisdiction lead, Energy FM reported on 28 October.
Mr Artus, who founded the island-based brand and marketing consultancy MGS, will concentrate on helping local companies find opportunities outside the island, according to the report.
TEKEX, which began in Jersey and Guernsey, opened on the island eight months ago.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Artus said the island economy could not grow “purely by circulating the same opportunities within the same relatively small community”. He said the island needed “new relationships, new businesses and new capital”.
He added that if TEKEX could create more such opportunities for Manx founders, it was something he wanted to be part of.
TEKEX founder Ed Prow said Mr Artus understood the island and its business community. Having him lead the company locally, Mr Prow said, would let it build on its momentum and develop relationships that deliver “real commercial value”.
