Peel MHK Katryna Baptist, who was elected in September, has tabled six written questions to ministers, 3FM has reported.

According to the station, they are among the first Tynwald questions for written reply to be published since voters returned a new House of Keys, the elected chamber of Tynwald, in the autumn.

Mrs Baptist’s questions cover subjects from Manx produce in schools through to the welfare support available to trainee teachers, 3FM said.

Douglas North MHK David Ashford has also lodged a question, on health spending. Ayr and Michael MHK Alf Canna is to ask his first question, which concerns special needs in schools, the station reported.

Questions for written reply allow members to seek information from ministers, with the answers given in writing rather than delivered in the chamber.
