Lewis Crowe was the first Manx runner to finish the Dublin Marathon on Sunday, 25 October, crossing the line in 2:38:11 despite the winds of Storm Boelo, according to Energy FM.
The broadcaster said several runners from the island recorded personal bests in the conditions.
Crowe’s time was 3:30 faster than his previous best, which he ran at the 2025 Boston Marathon. Eamon Farrell came next in 2:40:28. Energy FM said that was his quickest marathon, improving by 3:38 on the time he ran in Malaga last year.
Steph Woods was the island’s fastest woman in 3:35:04. Energy FM reported that this was 15 minutes quicker than the previous best she set in 2012. Samantha Hall was just behind in 3:35:49, also a personal best.
It was a good day for the Hall family. Samantha’s father, Martin Hall, ran 3:25:29, the fastest marathon of his career.
Other island finishers included Quintin Van Dyk (3:45:09), Kerry Jones (3:50:32) and Claire-Louise Lace (4:09:54). Terry (John) Kinvig was 19th in the men’s 70 category in 4:35:52.
