University College Isle of Man (UCM) has celebrated 135 graduates at its annual Graduates’ Ceremony at the Villa Marina in Douglas, Energy FM has reported.

Paul Craine MLC, a member of the Legislative Council, opened the event. It marked the completion of a variety of higher education courses.

Matthew Brand was named Higher Education Student of the Year and collected the Liam Arrowsmith award. He gained a BA (Hons) in Highways Engineering, Network Planning and Asset Management.

The Research Award, backed by Utmost International, went to Eden McCubbin. It recognised the quality of research she carried out during a BA (Hons) in Business Management.

UCM also made Chris Kissack an Honorary Fellow. According to Energy FM, the fellowship acknowledged his work across education, industry and the community, and the support he still gives the college.
