Keith Winstanley, the headteacher of Castle Rushen High School, is to leave the role next month, Manx Radio has reported.

Mr Winstanley has led the school for 12 years and is departing to take up another role, according to the broadcaster. Its report did not say what his new position will be or give an exact leaving date.

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture, which runs the island’s state schools, thanked Mr Winstanley for the contribution he has made to the school.

The department also confirmed that arrangements for the school’s leadership have been put in place.

Manx Radio’s report did not set out what those arrangements are, who will lead the school once Mr Winstanley goes, or how and when a permanent successor will be appointed.
