The owners of the Victory Café on the Mountain Road are asking bikers to donate riding equipment they no longer need, which the couple will take to a youth motorsport charity in southern Africa.

Benn and Vicki Quirk are due to travel to Lesotho later this month, 3FM reported on 14 October. They plan to bring the donated kit with them for the Basotho Youth Racing Academy.

The Quirks are looking for helmets, gloves, pads and any other gear riders have finished with.

According to 3FM, the academy exists to give young people a route into racing and the wider world of motorsport.

The café, which 3FM described as a haven for bikers, is a familiar stop for motorcyclists using the Mountain Road. Any gear collected will travel with the couple when they make the trip.
