Gambling regulator warns of websites falsely claiming Isle of Man licences

The Gambling Supervision Commission says it is working to have the sites taken down and that people can check a list of genuine licence holders on its website.

The island’s gambling regulator has warned players to be wary of websites that falsely claim to be licensed in the Isle of Man.

The Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC), which oversees the gambling industry on the island, said it is aware of a number of sites wrongly stating that they are regulated here, 3FM reported on Thursday 15 October.

The commission said those claims are untrue and that it is working to have the sites taken down.

Anyone unsure whether a gambling company is genuine can check a list of licensed operators on the GSC’s website, the commission said.

3FM’s report did not say how many websites are involved, name any of them, or give a timescale for their removal.
