Cloud, drizzle and hill fog set in for a damp Monday

Southerly winds are expected to pick up slightly later in the day, with temperatures peaking at around 16°C.

The island faces a grey and damp Monday, 12 October, with rain and drizzle in the morning and cloud lingering for the rest of the day, according to the forecast published by Energy FM.

The wet weather should turn lighter and more scattered as the morning goes on, though cloud is expected to hang on through the afternoon and into the evening.

Hill fog and coastal mist are likely to form in places, so drivers crossing higher ground and anyone heading out along the coast may find visibility reduced at times.

Winds will come from the south, moderate or fresh, and are forecast to strengthen a little later in the day.

The top temperature is expected to be around 16°C, Energy FM said.

Sunrise is at 07:40 and sunset at 18:28.
